MASHATU Land of the Giants cycling event

From 6th to 12th June 2025, a group of riders from across the world will be participating in the 2025 Land of the Giants (LOTG) cycling event, hosted by Stephen Lansdown, Mashatu Game Reserve majority owner and passionate conservationist. 

It promises to be the safari riding experience of a lifetime.

A thrilling recap of an epic week spent at Mashatu Game Reserve, where determined riders conquered rugged yet mesmerizing safari terrain, cycling 120km over 3 days amidst the sights and sounds of the wildlife and wilderness.

MASHATU LOTG 2025

From the 6th – 12th June 2025, a group of riders will embark on a one-of-a-kind safari riding experience, encompassing:

  • 120 – 180 km of cycling trails over 3 days
  • Cycling in groups of up to 8 riders with a leader
  • Riding through areas teeming with elephants, leopards, lions and cheetahs and more iconic wildlife
  • Accommodation across Mashatu Game Reserve
  • Daily game drives experiencing the wonders of Mashatu Game Reserve’s landscapes and wildlife
  • Opportunity to substitute a group game drive with a group safari walk
  • Rejuvenation day – community visit and conservation project engagement
  • Final dinner under starry African skies, including entertainment and camaraderie with fellow riders

LOTG MISSION

Organized by Mashatu Game Reserve for the Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT), this annual event aims to raise awareness and funds for vital conservation efforts in the region.

The mission is to raise ONE MILLION PULA annually for the Tuli Conservation Trust for the benefit of the Anti-Poaching Team in support of conservation initiatives vital to preserving Botswana’s natural heritage.

The decision to host the “Land of the Giants” cycling event at Mashatu Game Reserve underscores its significance as a sanctuary for wildlife and a hub for conservation efforts, showcasing the importance of ecotourism in preserving pristine wilderness areas.

about the tuli conservation trust (TCT)

The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) was established in Botswana in 1993 by the Northern Tuli Game Reserve (Notugre) Landowners Association. TCT focuses on wildlife protection, environmental conservation, and community enhancement. TCT’s UK counterpart, Tuli Conservation Trust UK (TCTUK), is a registered charity that primarily fundraises for key projects including anti-poaching efforts, fence upgrades, and community outreach and empowerment programs.
