And the proof is in the pictures, the newest arrivals to the Mashatu Family are here in the form of four, 5 weeks old lion cubs.
The cubs are the offspring the lioness who make up the pride of two sisters (adult lionesses) and three, 6 month old cubs. The once littlies of the lion race of Mashatu now have cousins!
Evidence as to where the cubs have been hiding for the past few weeks has been obvious. With fresh tracks on a daily basis leading into thick grass which lines the Majale River, it was just a matter of time until the cubs mother allowed us to view her youngsters. Field ranger, Elvis and his two guests Xeena and David Wallington where the first to lay eyes on the little terrors. A sighting such as this is truly one to behold, with numbers of predators rapidly decreasing in Africa we need all the cub lovin’ we can get.
Thanks to Xeena Wallington for the first official photo’s of the new cubs.
