Let’s get to know about our incredible hospitality general manager, Peter Bale.
Hospitality General Manager. In a nutshell, I oversee the entire operation of all the camps in the reserve.
I am Peter Bale. Born and raised from a small village in Bobirwa called Mathathane. I am the 2nd born in the family . I have an older brother and 5 younger siblings. Most importantly, I am a family-orientated man and a full-time father (quite a job as well. 🙂 ) Married to my fearless, beautiful and very supportive wife who makes my job much easier, and greatly pushes me to higher limits.
The 2 key beliefs that drive my passion at work are:
Organising and coordinating camp operations, supervising & evaluating staff, handling customer feedback, enforcing regulations and quality standards to ensure maximum efficiency. Maintaining a high standard of customer service according to company operating procedures, to ensure that our guests’ expectations are met. Teamwork has become a sing-song in all the camps, and this is what makes my work even easier.
Working at Mashatu does not feel like work for me, it’s a lifestyle. Passion and genuine interest are crucial components that have led to me still being here for almost 10 years now (I started in December 2013). It’s challenging, but my passion carries me through. The team here at Mashatu make my role such a pleasure. They are are so passionate and determined to delight our guests. This in turn motivates me to work even harder.
Mashatu is diverse and unique, with the most beautiful landscape in Botswana if I may say. As a tourist destination, it offers so many adventures, such as game drives, walking safaris, cycling safaris, underground hide visits and horse safaris. These are among the many things that set Mashatu apart. Mashatu Game Reserve has the best predator viewing in Botswana, including daily sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah. We also have the largest herd of elephant on private land in Africa.

Then it is the 4th time for us we visit Mashatu. We have been in Tented in 2016, we have been in Euphorbia in 2022 and 2023 en net year we will stay, hopefully, in maincamp.
Much live from us bots,
